"The Big Little House" - 24" x 24" - oil
Can everyone please cross your fingers for me. Today I sent out about five pieces of art to a show in Virginia. I'm use to shipping smaller pieces of work with ease. For some reason I'm especially nervous on this occasion. Maybe it was the gentlemen helping me that listed off a number of horror stories about shipping large packages. I'm already nervous about having someone, other than myself, take responsibility for delivering my work without hearing the horror stories. Part of me is saying "what's the worst that can happen" and the other part is saying "What IS the worst that can happen?" I won't mention the shipping company but again I'll ask that everyone to keep their fingers crossed for me.
This is the larger version of a study that I posted back in January titled "The Little House" so I thought that it was fitting to title this one "The Big Little House." The view stems from a drive through Northern Virginia.

Fingers crossed for you Steven. I know what you mean but for what it's worth, I've never had any issues with anything I've shipped. Now, I did take time off of a day job once to deliver a rather large package of paintings and prints. It was an eight hour drive, however.
Great painting, man. I need to go paint something now just to keep up with you.
Hi Steven!
I can certainly understand your concerns. I have had them when I've shipped completed stained glass windows too....fortunately no mishaps.
One of the best things I have learned came from a Dale Carnegie course...what is the worst thing that can possibly happen? Imagine it and it rarely, if ever happens.
Another beautiful painting. Love this scene a lot.
Thanks Douglas, the thought had crossed my mind to drive them myself but I have a schedule conflict.
Thanks Kathleen, I guess I shouldn't be as nervous seeing that you're working with something as fragile as glass.
This is stunning. Hopper light. fingers and toes crossed for your shipping, too.
Thanks Liz, I'm doing my best! Thank you for the extra fingers.
I love the perspective in this painting ~ I feel like I'm laying in the flowers looking at the house. Your work is very beautiful!
I really like the depth of field, with the grasses and flowers in the foreground out of focus. Great light and colors.
Fingers crossed on the shipping!
Fingers crossed, and toes too! That's nerve-wracking; just went through it recently (everything arrived safely, if a bit late).
Saw your great take on beach photo! You have the best color sense. Love this Big Little House, too.
Beautiful painting!
and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you work arrives very very safe.
Thanks Lauren and Don, I don't like ot play favorites with my paintings but this one is up there. Hopefully I can find some more treasures like this one.
Thanks Garriott! Shipping work can really drive you crazy. Sometimes I feel like it's giving a total stranger a brick of gold to deposit for me in the bank.
My color sense has been a work in progress. Good to hear that it's coming together. Thanks!
Thank you Susan! Your crossed fingers are greatly appreciated!
Beautiful. Good luck..Fingers crossed tell me when to releas..
Good luck!
Hi there Irit, thanks for your fingers. I think you can release them now. I've been told that the packages made it.
Hi there Cathyann, the show is in Berryville, Virginia at the "Art at the Mill" show. There will be well over 200 pieces of art there. It's worth the drive.
