Getting Schooled

"Tucked Away" - 11" x 14" - oil

Sold

I thought I'd post this blog as a last reminder for my opening at Glave Kocen Gallery. Although it promises to be a big night for me, I'm more concerned with the events that will take place prior to the opening. I'm scheduled to give a talk/demo to four groups of 4th and 5th graders at Bettie Weaver Elementary in Chesterfield, VA about art opportunities. This could be brutal. I could get heckled by little Suzy smartpants and never recover. If by some slim chance I actually make it through the afternoon... I'll see you all at the opening.

Thank you Cathyann! I'll see you soon. I survived and yes they did ask about money but they were a good batch of kids.

Thanks Tracey! Good luck with your show I'm sure that it's dynamite and that the word will spread like wildflowers through Fredericksburg. Sending those same sales vibes right back at ya.

Steven,
Thanks so much for speaking at our kid's school today. With the gallery opening tonight, this was really above and beyond the call of duty...you are truly gracious with your time and Marie, Bettie Weaver Elementary and I really appreciate it. I heard from a couple of parents and they said that their kids really enjoyed it. Sara said that is was "awesome". If anyone was going to throw some heckling your way, she would have. I'm surprised she didn't because I gave her some grade A zingers for ya...she does all my dirty work! Seriously, thanks again and we'll see you soon at the opening!

I hope you had a great opening! Your paintings of houses remain as some of my favorite takes on the subject.

I was wondering how it went with the kids, until I read your answers. Good to know :)
Your paintings are so beautiful, I wish you the best on the "Between Homes" show.
Best regards,
Carolina

Thank you Curtis, Garriott, Kerri and Carolina! There was minimal heckling, the opening was packed and I survived the weekend on minimal sleep. Thank you everyone!
