"The James #5" - 30" x 40" - oil
Available at the Glave Kocen Gallery
The past week has been somewhat boring for me. I finished two paintings for the The Arts Company in Nashville. I also completed two Columbus based paintings to take to Art Access next week. Lastly, the painting above was delivered to Glave Kocen a few weeks ago. I should have the mentioned paintings posted in the next week or so. That's enough about me.
In more exciting news my better half and partner in crime, at Davis Walker Creative won a design contest for the Boat Sober New York poster below. The poster was created out of paper collage. Evelyn's design efforts are primarily geared towards designing for non profit organizations such as the Civil Rights Memorial Foundation, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and any other charitable cause. She's definitely the goody good of this tandem and it works. If you have time, go check out our efforts at http://www.daviswalkercreative.com/

How nice to see a spouse proud of his mate. I love the poster... definitely will make an impact. I must say even though you're bored, you're blessed to have so many opportunities to have your beautiful work seen! Congrats!
Hi Steven,
Your paintings are really beautiful, I like your style very much. And your writing too, it' so entertaining :)
Regards,
Carolina
Steven, tell your wife I admire her poster and her giving spirit. This is a message that needs to be heard, especially in this area..Hampton Roads. There are frequent boat accidents caused by alcohol.
Your work is so comtemplative. If I had a painting of yours, I feel like I could meditate in front of it, and let my eyes and mind go farther and farther into the painting.
Thank you Sheila! I will agree that I have been very fortunate to have so many opportunities in my career. I would love to brag about Evelyn more often but she makes me keep it to a minimum.
Thank you Carolina! I try to keep this blog fairly entertaining if only for my own sanity.
Thank you Deborah! Evelyn will really appreciate the kudos. I haven't been to the Hapton Roads area in years but I hope they're doing something about thos accidents. I'm glad to hear that my paintings act as a form of meditation for those other than myself.
Love the painting, love the poster, and your life sounds VERY exciting to me! I also like your take on the DSFDF challenge.
Thank you Deb! I'll be sure to pass the compliment on to the little lady. I never thought that life as an artist could be exciting but somehow I've found a way. Thanks for the kudos on the DSFDF challenge.
Steven,
First let me say your entry to DSFDF is wonderful but your own work has unparalleled qualities. I appreciate every piece you make for it's presence of peace. Second your wife did a fabulous job on the poster and in true humbleness she prefers not to be in the foreground of our industry . You make a perfect compliment to each other and I appreciate the pride you have of her.
Thank you Dominique! We definitely each other because she's always talking about me and my accomplishments while I'm always trying to push the focus on to her. She will be delighted to here all of the good feedback on her poster.
