On our last trip to Nashville I thought it would be nice to go to some of the local art galleries and maybe drum up some business. During a small break in the day we found ourselves walking downtown and miles away from the galleries that I had looked up online. After walking for about 10 minutes we saw The Arts Company. It says art so we've got to check it out.
We walked around the gallery for a couple of minutes before being taken upstairs to see additional artwork. On the elevator ride back downstairs I met a lady and her daughter. Yadda, yadda, yadda, I gave her one of my postcards and she began to rave. It wasn't long before I was talking to the owner of the gallery. She seemed very interested in my work.
As soon as I was able to get to my computer, I sent a formal submission packet to her. She immediately took to the work and now I'm on my way back to Nashville to drop off a few pieces for their New Works show. If all goes well I'm going to work on more pieces, like the one above, geared specifically towards Nashville.

wow... this is striking! What an awesome painting.
CONGRATULATIONS on bumping into the gallery owner and impressing her so!
I love it when sweet accidents happen like this!
Congrats, Steven. Amazing what happens when you step on out there.
Way to go!
Thanks everyone! Some of the best things happen when from chance. Thankfully I always come prepared.
Congrats Steven. How wonderful and a great inspiration for the rest of us. Wishing you continued success.
Another gorgeous work of art! (Yeah, you ARE the master).
Congrats on taking advantage of the situation in Nashville! A good reminder to all of us to always have postcards on hand.
Oh, and your blog list picture is now updating itself! Yay!
At this rate I may have to paint even more than I already do. I'm no salesman when it comes to my work but I do come prepared to promote and I think that every artist should be ready when the opportunity arrives.
Thanks Garriott for the update on my blog list...it's alive...it's ALIVE
Congratulations on your new venue. Luck meets preparation! Your work is fantastic.

Smart move Steven! Always come prepared to "work it"! Congratulations - look forward to seeing what you will deliver to the show!
Paint. Pound pavement. Hey, wait a minute... that's my business strategy.
Something my Dad told me recently about selling, "Don't be a salesman, be yourself." I think you've got that down.
You're working it, man. And I hope to see your work in person soon.
Yeah, the lady that was with her daughter was trying to tell me how to be a salesman and how to seal the deal as if I were selling real estate. Well obviously my way is working for me.
What a great story!!
Congratulations... no wonder she liked your work!
