"Columbus #3" - 8" x 10" oil
A few months ago I started a series of local city paintings. This series lead to an article in CityScene Magazine. CityScene was the first local magazine that I had come across after moving to Columbus. A few paintings and a couple of months later and here it is. I received my copy of the article this past Saturday. I must say that I was impressed by the quality and color accuracy of the publication. I've had some nightmare situations about color accuracy with publications but this isn't one of them...bang up job. This painting can be found at Art Access Gallery in Bexley, OH. Outstanding cityscape with so much going on! Love the foreground shadows and hint of skyline almost like blue mountains. Really powerful with manmade grid images vs organic wildness. Bravo!
Hey Steven, Columbus #3 rocks! What I can't get enough of is the depth of this painting. Your pale blue skyscrapers nail it.
Great article too... with pictures I haven't seen before as well.
Good for you, Steven! I like "Columbus #3" a lot--those shadows are great lead-ins. The Drexel is still my favorite, though.
Thanks Candy, I don't often paint urban scenes so I had to include something organic and I think it worked out.
Thanks Douglas, I'm just trying to keep up with you.
Thank you Cheryl, I appreciate it. I'm glad that you like the Drexel. It took a little more work than this one.
BEAUTIFUL painting, Steven.
