I want to thank everyone that ran to the books store to read up on me in the latest issue of Art Calendar. It's been an interesting experience receiving so many emails from people that either want to congratulate me or talk to me further about my artistic exploits/high jinks.
This abundance of fan mail reminds me of a story (switching to old man mode). I think the year was 2004 or maybe it was 2005 and I had just finished a show at the main library in Richmond. I came home one day to find a small piece of mail. Now this part isn't unusual but it's when I read the return address that things got a little weird. It was fan mail from the Department of Corrections... you heard right. Apparently one of the female inmates had seen my show and thought enough to write me. No, she did not escape (to my knowledge) to go see my show although that would have done wonders for my ego. I can't quite remember all that was said in the letter but it was nothing that warranted any kind of relocation.
"Fans, keep it coming... fanatics, speak up the regular fans are winning"

That story alone warrants (no pun intended) a visual of some sort...maybe inspiration for your next painting....call it "jailhouse love". I love this painting though!
