"Meet Virginia" - 12" x 18" - oil
During my last post I said that I would post some of the pieces that are included in my online show at the Glave Kocen Gallery entitled “I’ve Been There.” So here are a couple of pieces to get your interest. If you’re in the Richmond, Virginia area I urge you to go to the gallery and take a gander at the pieces in person. At the very least take time to view the pieces online by clicking here. I have at least ten new pieces on display at the gallery for your viewing pleasure.
In other late breaking news, I was informed a few days ago that the two paintings below were accepted into the 2010 Richeson 75 landscape competition and show. Now if I could only have this kind of luck in all of the competitions that I enter.

I've never been there... but now I feel like I have. Looks very humid. Nice atmospheric capture.
Way to go, Steven... ya know, September is gonna be a good month. Good start so far.
Thanks Garriot and Douglas! Virginia is just beautiful although that day it was quite humid. I certainly hope that September is good to me. I plan on doing a lot more painting this month than normal.
This is lovely! Congrats too! :) I noticed your Facebook badge update. Not sure if its current but if it is Happy Birthday!!! If not, Happy Belated birthday LOL!
Thanks Dawn for the compliment and the Birthday greeting. It was a nice quiet birthday and that's all I can ask for.
These are all filled with that quiet beauty that you excel at. I really love that cloudy overview painting - the warm to cool progression is amazing. Congrats on the acceptance into the competition!
Glad you had a day to relax :)
Thanks Kerri! I'm glad that you took notice in the progression from cool to warm. I hope to get more opportunities in other competitions.
Thank you Dawn! I'm glad that my B-Day went well too. It doesn't always turn out that way.
Thanks for sharing those! I live in Virginia and yes, I've been there. Nice work!
